Booth Exhibitor Sales Set Record Highs

    LAS VEGAS, Nov. 5 -- Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week
(AAIW) '97 has surpassed the AAIW '96 record for number of companies
exhibiting and number of booth spaces sold, according to Ron Coleman, chairman
of the AAIW '97 Show committee and president and chief executive officer of
Competition Cams in Memphis, Tennessee.
    "This year, the number of booth spaces sold climbed to 9583, 14.5% over
1996, and the number of companies displaying their products reached 2914,
14.9% over the 1996 figures," Mr. Coleman said.
    Unofficial figures indicate more than 35,000 persons attended the first
day of AAIW '97, up from 30,000 attendees on the first day of AAIW '96.
28 official delegations from more than 100 countries are attending this year's
show.
    Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week, held annually in Las Vegas, is the
largest automotive aftermarket trade-only exhibition in the world.
    AAIW '97 features the ASIA/MEMA/APAA Show at the Sands Expo Center and the
SEMA/AI-NTDRA Shows running concurrently at the Las Vegas Convention Center,
November 4-7, 1997.
