'Classic Volvo's for Sale' Newest Section to Volvo's Internet Site

ROCKLEIGH, N.J., Oct. 13 -- Classic cars are the soul and
essence of an automobile company. Through the years they carry with them the
founding principles that build a car company's reputation. Volvo cars are
legendary for their strength, durability and excellence in safety engineering.
What better way to showcase this tradition than to offer classic Volvo's for
sale on the Internet.
Starting this October 1997, Volvo Cars of North America will open their
Internet web site for the sale of classic Volvo's by their owners. "With
traditional communications mediums, we just couldn't find a way to showcase
our past Volvos. With the Internet we have created an interactive section
that not only shows our past but links sellers and buyers in a very cost
efficient way. This Web page also shows future customers where our heritage
comes from," comments Jenny Genosa, Volvo's Internet site developer. "This is
the first time an automotive Internet site will offer a unique interactive
customer oriented feature like this. We are building our site for the whole
Volvo family, past, present, and future customers."
Classic Volvos are of pre-1975 vintage. They are being offered for sale
by their owners and all transactions are between the buyer and seller. For
complete details, see Volvo Cars of North America's home page at:
 http://www.volvocars.com .
Volvo Cars of North America was the first automotive company to have a
Internet site. The North American headquarters is in Rockleigh, New Jersey,
with offices in the United States and Canada. Volvo also manufactures cars in
Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Canada.
