SMC Corporation Announces Repurchase of Common Shares

    HARRISBURG, Ore., Sept. 24 -- SMC Corporation ,
today reported it has repurchased 220,000 shares of outstanding common stock.
The Company's Board of Directors had recently approved the repurchase of up to
300,000 shares.  The remaining 80,000 common shares will be repurchased over
the next several months.  The 300,000 shares will be repurchased from existing
cash reserves.
    SMC Corporation is headquartered in Harrisburg, Oregon and is one of the
largest high-line motor coach manufacturers in the United States, with
products positioned at each price point from the Trek, an entry level
high-line coach, to the Marquis, considered by many to be the finest motor
coach available in the market today.
