Chrysler Announces New Consumer Cash Program

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 15 -- Chrysler Corporation
announced a national consumer incentives program today that provides
cash allowances of $1,000 to buyers of certain new 1998 cars.
    The program covers 1998 models of Dodge Neon and Stratus, Plymouth Neon
and Breeze, Chrysler Cirrus and Eagle Talon.
    As an alternative to the cash allowance, buyers of the eligible vehicles
may choose reduced interest rate financing through Chrysler Financial
Corporation.  Available interest rates are 1.9 percent for loans of 1-24
months, 4.9 percent for loans of 25-36 months, 5.9 percent for loans of 37-48
months, and 6.9 percent for 49-60 month loans.
    The program is in effect September 15, 1997, through January 5, 1998.
