New Venture Gear Launches Breakthrough Transfer Case Technology

    TROY, Mich., Sept. 12 -- New Venture Gear announces the
launch of the all-new, Active Transfer Cases, (the NV 136 and 246), The Active
Transfer Cases arc electronic torque modulating units that offer the next
generation in handling and traction control for the four-wheel-drive market.
"This transfer case will take the four-wheel drive experience to a new level,"
said James L. Lanzon, NVG's Vice President of Engineering.  "We have been
working on this technology for some time knowing that these transfer cases
would have a big impact on the market.  It is exciting to watch as the units
move into the production phase."
    "New Venture Gear has made a commitment to maintain leadership in the
driveline industry," said Denise Lee, Vice President of Sales and Customer
Satisfaction.  "These transfer cases are proof that our commitment is paying
off."
    The NV 136 and 246 will be produced at the NVG's New Process Gear Division
in East Syracuse, New York.  The new transfer cases will be used in a variety
of 1998 sport utility vehicles for General Motors.
