Kia Reports Sales for August 1997

    IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 3 -- Kia Motors America today announced
record sales of 6,321 for the month of August, its highest total since retail
sales began in February 1994.  The Sephia compact sedan and Sportage sport-
utility vehicle each had its highest sales month ever, as did Kia overall.
