Avis Launches Res-O-Matic On-Line Real-Time Reservations System

System Enables Site Visitors to Check Rental Availability and Rates, Make And
Cancel Reservations for all Avis Locations Throughout the U.S., Canada, Puerto
                Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands in Real-Time.

    NEW YORK, Sept. 3 -- Avis today announced the launch of its
new on-line, real-time reservation system located in the Rates and
 Reservations website section of Avis Galaxy (http://www.avis.com).  Avis
Res-O-Matic enables site visitors to check availability and rates as well as
make and cancel reservations for all Avis locations throughout the U.S.,
Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands in real-time.
    This new real-time reservations system is an addition to the existing Avis
site, allowing users to quickly navigate through all areas, access detailed
rental car information which is further enhanced by creative visuals to aid
travel itinerary planning.  Additional features of the Avis Galaxy allow site
visitors to view photos of car models available from the worldwide Avis fleet
as well as features and special equipment available on select Avis rental cars
at major destinations around the world.
    Avis has taken new steps to assure quality by improving its reservation
capabilities previously available through e-mail.  Res-O-Matic interacts
directly with the Avis Wizard Reservations System through a unique interface
designed exclusively for Avis by Wizcom International, Ltd.  The design of
Res-O-Matic was created by Planet Access Networks, site developers and
designers of the Avis Galaxy.

       your reservation on-line, for any of the more than 4,800 worldwide Avis
       rental locations.
    -- Global Fleet -- View Avis' fleet, complete with color photos, for
       140 countries around the world.  Local driving, renting practices and
       policies for each country are also available.
    -- Special Offers -- On-line users can learn about special offers,
       discounts, vacation packages and how to earn miles from Avis and other
       travel partners.

    Avis on-line also offers its customers the option of reviewing and
printing out detailed driving maps -- a service unique in the car rental
industry.
