Chrysler Presents New Car to Surprised One-Millionth Guest At 'Great Cars. Great Trucks.' Center at Mall of AmericaAUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 22 -- Today, just nine months after Chrysler's "Great Cars. Great Trucks." interactive center opened at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn., the one-millionth guest will walk through the doors and receive the keys to a 1998 Dodge or Plymouth Neon. Jim Holden, Chrysler's Executive Vice President -- Sales and Marketing, will greet the surprised winner, who will then be able to order the color of his/her choice on an interactive kiosk that will also identify the Dodge or Plymouth dealer nearest their home. "This was our way to thank the many guests who have stopped by to visit this unique center, learn about Chrysler's heritage, our innovative products and see how we're doing things differently," said Holden. The center is the first for the automotive industry. On a daily average, 4,000 guests visit the 15,000 square-foot facility, which officially opened in November 1996. The "Great Cars. Great Trucks." center is the second largest attraction at the Mall of America, attracting about 35,000 guests per week. (Camp Snoopy amusement park is the number one attraction.) To encourage frequent guests at "Great Cars. Great Trucks." center, unique concept cars, prototypes and selected production vehicles representing all lifestyles are showcased. Other key attractions include a Jeep(R) "off road" driving simulator, a theater featuring more than 15 driving experience videos, audio driving experiences with the Dodge Viper and the family of Dodge Ram-tough engines.
