Chrysler Corporation's Dallas and Houston Zones Donate $25,000 To The Jarrell Tornado Relief Fund

AUSTIN, Texas, July 30 -- Chrysler Corporation
Texas dealers announced today the donation of $25,000 to the American Red
Cross Jarrell Tornado Relief Fund in Austin, Texas. The donation is the
result of the efforts of 74 Chrysler Corporation dealers throughout the Dallas
and Houston area who donated five dollars per every retail vehicle sold during
the month of June. Chrysler Corporation matched one-third of the total
proceeds.
"Together, we can make a difference," said J.W. Park, manager of Chrysler
Corporation's Dallas zone. "Our Texas dealers realize the importance of
taking care of their community. By contributing to the victims of Jarrell and
the victims of Williamston, we hope to show Texas that Chrysler cares and
takes a part in the rebuilding of the town and individual lives."
The Jarrell tornado stuck Central Texas on May 27. The dealers' campaign
to raise money for the victims was initiated immediately following the tornado
and ran through the month of June. The donation from the Texas dealers will
be used to provide temporary shelter and provisions for the people of
Williamston, Texas.
