Tentative Agreement Reached Between UAW and GM in Warren, Michigan

    DETROIT, July 25 -- UAW Vice President Richard Shoemaker, who
directs the union's General Motors Department, announced this evening that
tentative agreement has been reached between UAW Local 909 and General Motors
on a tentative local union contract covering about 2,800 union members at GM's
Warren, Michigan transmission plant.
    Details of the tentative agreement are being withheld pending a
ratification vote by the membership which will take place on Sunday.
