SAINTE-CLAIRE, Quebec, July 13 -- Office employees and plant
workers affiliated with the Canadian Auto Workers Union today jointly voted to
accept final management offers for the renewal of their collective agreement.
Management of Prevost Car expressed delight with the results of the union
vote, and is confident that this negotiated settlement will contribute to the
on-going improvement of the workplace and will allow the company to maintain
the competitive edge which it requires in a constantly evolving market.
With this agreement in hand and strengthened by the creative potential of
its personnel, Prevost Car expects to maintain its momentum which has made it
the North American leader in intercity and touring coaches and luxury
motorhomes. Prevost Car is the largest industrial employer in the Quebec City
metropolitan area, and has created more than 500 jobs in the past 24 months.
Prevost Car urges all employees to maintain their level of involvement
and collaboration in the company, which has so contributed to the company's
numerous successes in recent years -- all for the benefit of our customers.
Operations will resume this evening at 11:00 p.m.
