'Stockton To Malone Honda' Scheduled to Open This Year

    TORRANCE, Calif., June 30 -- Utah jazz forward Karl Malone
and guard John Stockton will team up off the court and operate "Stockton To
Malone Honda" in Sandy, Utah, American Honda announced today.  The new
dealership will be constructed at 10860 South Automall Drive.
    "Karl Malone and John Stockton exemplify team spirit on the basketball
court and we feel confident that they will excel as our teammates in their new
Honda store," said Richard Colliver, senior vice president of Honda Automobile
Sales.
    There are seven existing Honda dealerships in Utah.  Extensive market
studies in the region indicate significant sales potential for the new store
in Sandy.  "Stockton To Malone Honda" is expected to open by the end of 1997.
    The car dealership will be the first for Stockton and Malone in the Utah
market.  "We've worked together for a long time and we were hoping to find a
way to continue a working relationship beyond basketball," said Stockton.
Malone added, "I'm really glad we're going to start our business partnership
here in the Salt Lake area and we want to thank American Honda for giving us
the opportunity."
