Land Rover Announces January 1997 Sales

    LANHAM, Md., Feb. 4 -- Land Rover North America, Inc. posted
1,425 sales in January as compared to January 1996, when 1,950 units were
sold, the best January in the company's history.

Companies, importing vehicles manufactured by Land Rover, Solihull, England.

of the BMW Group.  The consolidated monthly U.S. sales total for the two
companies for January is 9,673 (BMW 8,248 and Land Rover 1,425).
