"Jimmy Spencer tried to help right there at the end, but couldn't. I really hated to se him pulling Steve up through there, but Steve had a a great car today and he deserved to win the race. My car was good. I got a little loose, but was able to kepp it wide open. Bit I didn't have enough for him. I tried him on the outside in the last corner, but I didn't quite have enough.

"We didn't have enough speed today, but we should have been in the draft there at the end and maybe we could've helped Dale. But when I got ready to pit, I couldn't get all the cars to pit together. I guess they wanted to get rid of me. When I got ready to slow down to pit, I slowed down ral quick in front of a car thta had wrecked and he ran into the back of me.
Otherwise, I think I could've been a part of that deal at the end, but not really a factor except maybe to help Dale.

"Somebody had trouble in the tri-oval for the second time today. I picked the high-side but I ran out of room and got into the outside wall. At least our rear deck lid is OK, because we've gotta have that to put on our Rockingham car.

"I was boxed in coming through the tri-oval. Evidently the air just came off my spoiler and the next thing I knew I was looking the other direction.
