Jay Drake of Val Verde, Calif. continued his incredible USAC racing season Saturday night at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind., winning USAC's 49th "Hut 100" MCI WorldCom National Midget Car race. The win was Drake's 16th in USAC National competition this year!

Drake trailed National point leader Kasey Kahne for the first 50 laps, then paced the final 50 circuits around the 5/16-mile dirt track in his KECO/Hoosier Tire machine to beat Tony Elliott, Kahne, Ted Hines and Aaron Fike. Drake's win solidified his runner-up point ranking going into a September 16 USAC "doubleheader" at Indianapolis Raceway Park also featuring the Stoops Freightliner Sprint Cars.

Drake won the pole for the "Hut 100" and "qualifying race" victories went to A.J. Fike, Cole Carter and A.J. Felker.

Felker won Friday night's "Dirt-Track" Regional 30-lapper at Putnamville in his Pennington-Line Realtors Special, passing Chris Coers on the 28th lap. Coers, fast qualifier Clay Klepper, Michael Lang and Greg Lueckert trailed at the checkered flag.

Lang, who finished 13th in the "Hut 100," leads Coers by 53 points going into the September 15 "Dirt-Track Regional" event at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Ind.
