SONOMA, Calif. - Kawasaki riders Doug Chandler and Eric
Bostrom have just been added to the two-day test session next week at
Sears Point Raceway.
Kawasaki will join Vance & Hines Ducati and Yamaha as the modified road course will get its first full official test, Monday-Tuesday (April 3-4). The test session is in preparation for the Progressive Motorcycle Insurance AMA Superbike Challenge, May 5-7.
The Sears Point date represents the second round of the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship. It will mark the AMA's only springtime visit to Northern California.
Chandler and Bostrom will be joined by Steve Rapp and Troy Bayliss from Vance & Hines, and Tommy Hayden from Yamaha. Both sessions will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The two changes to the track were made at Turns 5 and 11 and are designed to enhance safety. Both upgrades were made under the guidance of three-time Superbike champion Chandler. Kawasaki twice made trips to Sears Point to test the new circuit, but because of rain, only managed 40 minutes of rain-soaked track time.
