IROC: Jarrett, Martin, J. Burton round out 2000 IROC Field

INDIANAPOLIS- The 12-driver field for the 2000 True Value International Race of Champions was set with the addition of NASCAR Winston Cup standouts Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin and Jeff Burton.

Jarrett won the NASCAR Winston Cup Series championship in 1999, his first title. This will be Jarretts fifth appearance in IROC.

Martin won four IROC championships in the 1990s, including three straight. This will be Martins ninth appearance in IROC.

Burton will appear in IROC for the third consecutive year. He finished fifth in the NASCAR Winston Cup points last year.

Previously named to the field were Eddie Cheever Jr., Mark Dismore and Greg Ray from the Indy Racing League, and Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Rusty Wallace from NASCAR Winston Cup. Dale Earnhardt is the defending series champion.

The 2000 True Value IROC series starts Feb. 18 at Daytona International Speedway. The final round of the four-race series is Aug. 4 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
