USAC: Western Midget Cars, TQs Return to Bakersfield Sunday

31 August 1999

The USAC MCI WorldCom Western Midget Cars and TQ Midget Cars combine for a "doubleheader" racing program Sunday night at the Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. A 20-lap TQ and 30-lap Midget Car feature are on tap at the 1/3-mile dirt oval.

Marc DeBeaumont, who finished 13th in Sunday's 25-mile National/Western feature event at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo., continues to lead the Western Midget Car standings over Shane Scully, who finished 10th in Sunday's 10-mile "qualifying race" and failed to earn a starting berth in the 25-mile finale.
