NASCAR-WCUP: Gordon Captures Coca Cola 600 Pole

CONCORD, NC: Jeff Gordon has the Charlotte Motor Speedway figured out. For the fifth time in a row, Gordon has capture the pole at Charlotte.

The track wasn't so kind to Gordon last Saturday night. Gordon was the class of the field during the running of "The Winston". Gordon had a ten car length lead over Mark Martin with two laps remaining in the race. Gordon ran out of fuel at the start of the last lap. Martin blew past and won the prestigious race.
"It's not like we had the worst week of our life. We were leading the thing and we made some decent money, but one slipped away from us.'' said Gordon.
Qualifying for the Coca Cola resumes today at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
