AMA: Dallas Supercross to Air on ABC Sports

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Fans of the American Motorcyclist Association Thor/Parts Unlimited 1998 AMA Supercross Series will be able to catch the action of the April 25, Texas Stadium Supercross on network television thanks to PACE Motor Sports, promoter of 15 of the 16 round series, and Seals Communications, which produces the telecasts on ESPN.

ABC will broadcast the Dallas Supercross at 5 p.m. eastern time following coverage of the Talledega NASCAR Winston Cup race on Sunday, April 26. Paul Page, voice of the Indy 500, along with ESPN2 announcer and 1983 AMA Supercross and motocross Champion David Bailey, will host the hour-long show. On-track announcers will be Art Eckman also of ESPN2 fame, and Racer X Illustrated editor and ESPN2 announcer Davey Coombs.

Broadcast of the Dallas Supercross will mark the first time in nearly a decade that AMA Supercross has aired on network television. The hour-long show will strictly showcase the 250cc main event, with feature pieces on four-time AMA Supercross Champion and current points leader Jeremy McGrath, of Menifee, Calif. Yamaha's Kevin Windham, of Baton Rouge, La., who trails McGrath by just 44 points, is also being featured.

Watch ABC at 5 p.m. on April 25, for the hottest motorsports competition on network television, AMA Supercross.

Additional coverage of the Dallas Supercross can be seen on ESPN2 onMay 9 at 1 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; May 10 at 3:30 a.m. and May 14 at 2:00 p.m.. All times are eastern and subject to change.
