TIME TO LACE-UP THE HOT SHOE

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Anticipating another season of high-energy
competition, American Motorcyclist Association Pro Racing today announced
the 1998 Hot Shoe National Dirt Track Series schedule. The thundering packs
of the Hot Shoe Series will kick-off the 1998 season Feb. 27, at
Olglethorpe Speedway in Savannah, Ga.

Fans at Olglethorpe will look on as today's young guns give their all on
the half-mile oval, with the goal of earning points and getting noticed on
the way to a full-time ride in the Harley-Davidson Sportster Performance
Series or the Grand National Dirt Track Series.
Riders competing in the AMA Hot Shoe National Dirt Track Series are working
their way up through the ranks of an intensely competitive and demanding
sport. Several dirt-track riders proved their mettle last year, including
George Roeder II, of Monroeville, Ohio, who rides into 1998 as reigning
champion of the 750cc Hot Shoe Series.

Other riders to watch include Warren, Conn., resident Ken Coolbeth Jr., who
earned the 1997 600cc Hot Shoe Series title. In the Pro-Am divisions, Tim
Eades, of Petersburg, Va., took home the 1997 600cc Hot Shoe Series title,
and Michael McKee of West Chester, Penn., won the 250cc championship.

The 1998 National Hot Shoe Series will take riders to some of the nation's
most historic motorcycle racing venues, and it will include mile, half-mile
and TT events. The 1998 AMA Hot Shoe National Dirt Track Series season
schedule follows.
