L J Racing Continues Sponsor Search

29 January 1998

MOORESVILLE, NC-When L J Racing team owner Joe Falk stands in the corner of his new 12,500 square foot shop in Mooresville, NC, he senses one thing missing from his one-year old race team. It's not the cars, they have 10 Chevrolet Monte Carlo's ready or near ready to race. It's not the talent level or dedication of his employees, crew chief Doug Richert has assembled lots of experienced workers. And it's not a driver, Kevin Lepage has been hired to pilot the #91 Chevrolet Monte Carlo's.

The one item missing is a major sponsor. Falk is still searching for the one missing ingredient in building a top-level Winston Cup team.

"We have talked with a lot of great companies, and had a lot of strong interest, but we are still looking for a commitment," team owner Joe Falk said. "I believe we have a lot to offer a sponsor, hopefully one will step forward soon and we can grow together. Our team showed a lot of promise with Kevin Lepage behind the wheel at the end of last season, and I know we are headed in the right direction."

The L J Racing Team will spend the next few days preparing the final touches to the Daytona car before heading south for The Daytona 500.
