Gary Claudio Joins Chevrolet as Raceshop Manager

WARREN, Mich.-- Gary Claudio has joined Chevrolet Motor Division as manager - Chevrolet raceshop.

He will be the liaison between Chevrolet and various racing teams and sanctioning bodies throughout the United States. Chevrolet participates in many racing circuits, including NASCAR Winston Cup Series (Monte Carlo), NASCAR SuperTruck series by Craftsman (Full-size Pickup), NHRA Pro Stock and Funny Car Series (Camaro), NHRA Pro Stock Truck Series (S-10 Pickup) and SCORE International and the Short Course Off-Road Driver Association events (S-10 Pickup and Full-size Pickup).

Claudio's main objective is to positively associate Chevrolet with these various racing series to promote Chevy's passenger car and truck lines.

A veteran of Pontiac Motor Division's sales and service organization, he was Pontiac's motorsports marketing manager for nearly three years just prior to joining Chevrolet. Claudio's 20-year Pontiac career includes positions as district service manager and dealer service consultant in several states. He has also been Pontiac's motorsports coordinator, and was a marketing manager in one of Pontiac's zone offices.

Never far from the auto world, Claudio restores 1965-67 Corvettes in his spare time, and has also raced superstock F Firebirds.

Claudio earned a B.S. degree in economics from the State University of New York. He and his wife live in Clarkston, Mich.
