Watch AMA Supercross Results on the Web!

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- AMADirectlink, the official web site of the
American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), has launched @theWire--a new,
real-time race results system that posts AMA Supercross finish
positions straight from the track to the Internet's World Wide Web.
The new system allows users to "watch" each AMA Supercross event as it
happens by logging on to AMADirectlink at http://www.ama-cycle.org.

Finish positions are sent directly from AMA Timing & Scoring computers
at each of the 1998 AMA Supercross series venues. Users are able to
view results from qualifying heats and semis in the 125cc and 250cc
classes, as well as view real-time main event results and updated
point standings--all just seconds after the racers cross the finish
line.

"This is Supercross for superfans,'' said Matt Ringlien,
AMADirectlink's webmaster. "But @theWire will do more than simply
provide up-to-the minute--and official--Supercross results for those
who just gotta know now. We also see the system helping to spread the
excitement of AMA racing to new audiences."

As a special feature, the @theWire system is designed to automatically
update web pages on viewers' screens remotely. This means that once a
user has logged onto a qualifying or main event results page, the web
browser will update itself automatically as new results become
available. No need to manually reload the page.

The host site, AMADirectlink, is updated daily with developments in
the entire range of AMA activities. From state and national
legislative efforts to road-riding events, from the starting line of
the world's largest amateur competition program to checkered-flag
results from AMA Pro Racing, AMADirectlink is the best source for AMA
news and information.
