R98002 January 12, 1998 For Immediate Release DUNLOP TIRES, EK CHAIN TO HELP POWER 1998 MBNA SUPERBIKE TOUR WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Dunlop Tires and EK Chain have renewed their support of the 1998 MBNA Superbike Tour, American Motorcyclist Association Pro Racing announced today. Dunlop has returned for a fourth year to underwrite the Dunlop Countdown Clock, and EK Chain has retained its official product status which began during the 1997 race season. The large-scale, digital-display Dunlop Countdown Clock tells riders, teams and fans exactly how much time is left in practice and qualifying sessions. The Dunlop Countdown Clock is especially valued by teams during qualifying, as it helps them judge when a rider should pit for last minute adjustments or tire changes. Established in 1939, EK Chain produces high-performance drive chains for racing and street use. In addition to their official product sponsorship, EK Chain has also posted $150,000 in rider contingency awards for all 1998 AMA Pro Racing divisions. "We are proud to reward riders who use EK Chains in competition," said EK Chain's Casey Wada. -30- Connie Fleming American Motorcyclist Association Public Relations Administrator http://www.ama-cycle.org 614-891-2425
