             NASCAR PRESIDENT BILL FRANCE TRANSFERS HOSPITALS;
                  RESTING AND IN GOOD CONDITION IN TOKYO

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (November 25, 1997) - Bill France, the president of the
National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, has transferred to a Tokyo
Hospital in preparation for his trip home. He is in good condition following
last Friday's angioplasty procedure.

According to Jim France, executive vice president of NASCAR, "Bill has been
progressing very well, and is in the process of finalizing his plans for the
trip home. We should have more details in the next 24 to 48 hours."

Mr. France is joined in Japan by five others, who were in Suzuka City for
last weekend's race and are working with him and NASCAR executives here in
the United States to continue the sanctioning body's day-to-day business as
usual. Included in the group are Brian France, NASCAR's vice president of
marketing and communications, and two American physicians.

"We must thank everyone for their outpouring of support and prayers
throughout this past weekend," said Brian France. "The hospital and the
medical attendants and the support received from the American Embassy has
been nothing short of phenomenal."

Updates on Mr. France, who is 64 and has no prior history of cardiac
ailments, will be released as information becomes available.
