Stock Car

The Brazilian Caca Bueno, son of the Brazilian racing comentator Galvao
Bueno, won the 9th round of the Brazilian Stock-Car series in Jacarepagua,
Rio de Janeiro last sunday.

Caca was the first Class B racer to win a race in Brazilian Stock-Car
since its creation, in 1981. Class B and Class A race together, but
the results are separated. Ingo Hoffman, second overall, was the winner
in Class A. This result put Ingo as a favorite to clinch his 12th Stock-Car
title: he only needs to finish 9th in the last race (Interlagos, December 7th).

Caca Bueno, favorite to get the class B title, only has to finish in
the top 15 in Interlagos to be champion.

Caca Bueno, 21 years old, had a great race. He started on pole and
led the whole race. Caca, who has support of the Brahma Sports Team
(same as Raul Boesel and Scott Pruett in CART in 1997), is driver of the
strongest and richest team in Brazilian Stock-Car. Even racing in Class
B (no technical difference to Class A), it wasnt difficult for
Caca to show the best of his form, at his home track. Caca is "carioca"
(born in Rio de Janeiro) and his team only test at the Jacarepagua
track.

Sudam Superturismo

The Brazilian Flavio Nono Figueiredo, who raced this season in two
different championships, won the Sudam Superturismo race in Taruma this
weekend. Nono, who raced in the Vectra Challenge in GB and was second
in the British championship, also raced in the Southamerican
Superturismo championship. The cars are the same as the ITC cars were.

Nono raced a GM Vectra and won, finishing in front of Argentine Javier
Balzano (GM Vectra), Oswaldo Cocho Lopez (Alfa 155), and Tito Bessone (BMW
320i).

This championship is in its first year, and of the 26 competitors 22 are
Argentinians, 2 Brazilians and 2 Chileans. This was the first
non-Argentinian win this season. Next race is in Interlagos next weekend.
