David Evans Joins Butch Mock/Rick Mast's 1998 NASCAR Winston Cup Effort

11 November 1997

MOORESVILLE, NC - Butch Mock Motorsports has hired David Evans to head their
in-house engine program for the 1998 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season.

The 34-year-old veteran engine builder was named the 1988 Engine Builder of
the Year and joins Butch Mock Motorsports after beginning the season with pe2
and owner/driver Kyle Petty. Evans spent 1996 with Team Sabco and prior to
that worked with Rusty Wallace from 1983-1995 at Blue Max Racing and then
Penske Racing South.

Team owner Butch Mock has used engines built by Pro-Motor Engineering for
the past three-and-a-half seasons but feels it will benefit his team and
driver, Rick Mast, to have one individual devoting full attention to one
operation.
