BMW Comes Out with Two New 3 Series Models

The big news at BMW is the announcement that two four-cylinder 3 series models for 1998 will now have six cylinder power plants. The 323is coupe and the 318i line will have sixes. With a base price of $29,270 for the 2.5 liter 323is coupe and $35,270 for the convertible, the sticker has gone up slightly for the 1998 models.

The base price for BMWs least expensive 318ti remains unchanged at $21,960. The hot selling Z3 Roadster in 1.9 and 2.8 configuration will see no price increases, even with the addition of new rollover bars. The base price is $29,995.

For 1998 the BMW On Board Navigation System gets an enhanced emergency call system. The price of the navigation system is $2,500.
