Toyota's 1998 Lineup Looks Swift and Safe

Here's a capsulized outline of what you can expect from Toyota for 1998 as they have upgraded. revised and added models to their line.

Land Cruiser

  Not much change for now, but look for a new version in mid 1998.

Tercel

  This model is updated slightly, but may be dropped from the line next 
  year.

Corolla

  Two inches longer, half-inch wider. 120 hp engine available, 1.8 liter
  twin cam. Side airbags optional. Bigger glove box.  Three speed
  automatic optional.

Sienna

  New minivan built on Camry platform. One sliding door, two next year.
  Motor is 3.0 liter V6 with 194 hp. Anti-lock brakes, rear air
  conditioning optional.

Celica

  New model coming in December.

Supra

  Base engine has 225 hp and comes with 5-speed automatic trans.  Six
  speed trans on the turbo model, and limited slip standard on all
  models.

Avalon

  Anti theft engine mobilizer standard, revised grill, side air bags 
  standard.

RAV4

  New grill, horsepower up 2 hp to 127. Revised instrument 
  cluster. Optional divers side swing open window. New headlamps.

Tacoma

  New front end styling. TRD race package available. Passenger side air
  bag.
