AMA California Superbike Challenge Roars onto The Auto Channel

Exclusive Live Coverage of the AMA/MBNA Superbike Series For Immediate Release LOUISVILLE, KY & SACRAMENTO, CA; August 21, 1997 _ For the second year in a row, The Auto Channel has announced that it's on-line network will be carrying complete live coverage of the AMA/MBNA Superbike Series of the McGraw Insurance Services California Superbike Challenge from the Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, California. The fastest motorcycle racers in the nation return to battle it out for the coveted AMA Superbike series crown. The prestigious AMA crown represents the premier status of road-course motor cycle racing in the United States. Modified four-stroke motorcycles originally sold for street use make up the racing Superbikes used in the challenge. The McGraw Insurance California Superbike Challenge will include such manufacturers as Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. All of the Superbikes in the race must use the original frame and engine cases, with everything else up to the rider and his team. The Auto Channel's Live Coverage of the 2 day challenge begins on Saturday, August 30 with the qualifying meets starting at 11AM PDT, and the weekend_s first race finals beginning at 3:30 in the afternoon. Sunday_s final events commence at 11AM PDT for the first race, and 1PM PDT for the second set of races. All races will be Cybercast live in their entirety.
