Alternate Directions to IRP for NHRA U.S. Nationals (Avoid Construction Delays)

Alternate directions to IRP (to avoid heavy construction at the intersection
of I-74, I-465 and U.S. Highway 136/Crawfordsville Road):


From the north:

U.S. Nationals fans can follow I-465 to either 10th Street or
Rockville Road (U.S. Highway 36) and then take either road west to
Raceway Road, turn right on Raceway and go north to Crawfordsville
Road/U.S. 136, then left (west) 3/4 of a mile to IRP.

Another option is to exit I-465 at 38th Street, and take 38th west to
Dandy Trail, and then follow Dandy Trail south to Crawfordsville Road.
Turn right on Crawfordsville and follow it west to IRP.

Fans coming from the north via Interstate 65 can also take Indiana
Highway 267 south to Brownsburg, then follow U.S. Highway 136 east
from Brownsburg 3 miles to IRP.

From the south (this includes fans coming from Indianapolis
International Airport):

Take I-465 north to Rockville Road or 10th Street, and follow the
above-mentioned directions via Raceway Road.  Fans can also take the
38th Street exit west to Dandy Trail, which was mentioned above.

Another option is to take 56th Street west to Raceway Road, then
Raceway south to Crawfordsville Road/U.S. 136, and Crawfordsville west
to IRP.



From the west:

Fans arriving in Indianapolis via Interstate 70 or Interstate 74 can
exit at State Road 267.  From I-70, take SR 267 north from Plainfield
to Brownsburg, then east on U.S. 136 to IRP.  From I-74, take SR 267
south to U.S. 136, then east to IRP.



From downtown:

1.)  Take Washington Street west to Interstate 465, then north to
Rockville Road, 10th Street or 38th Street.

2.)  Or take Illinois Street north to 16th Street, turn left (west) on
16th and follow it past the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  16th will
curve to the right several blocks west of IMS and turn into Cunningham
Road.  Follow Cunningham north to 21st St., and take 21st left (west)
to Raceway Road.  Turn right on Raceway and take it north to
Crawfordsville Road, then left (west) 3/4 mile to IRP.

Fans coming from the east should take I-465 around the city, and use
any of the exits off I-465 that were mentioned above.
