Sears Point Race Notes, Laps 0-5

SONOMA, CA - With the parade lap complete Mark Martin, who chose to
line up in the outside line for a better run into turn one, brings the
field to the green flag...... Martin takes the green and the Save Mart
Supermartkets 300 is underway.

Martin gets the jump heading up the hill to turn one over Rusty
Wallace....  the field lines up nose to tail to start their way to the
front....  Dallenbach is on the move... he picks up a spot or three.

Lap one has been completed very cleanly.

Dallenbach sneaks past Terry LAbonte for the 4th spot..... It's
Martin, Wallace, Gordon, Dallenbach.

Gordon makes a run on Wallace in turn 11..... no dice Rusty shuts the
door.

Lap three..... It's still Martin in the lead, followed by Wallace,
Gordon, Dallenbach, T Labonte and Brett Bodine.

Wallace takes a look at Martin... takes it door to door with Martin in
seven.... he takes the lead in the esses... Lap 3.

Lap 5....Rusty Wallace took it too hard in to turn 7 and he went off
into the grass... he is back to 5th after his expedition into the
field.

The top 5 are Martin, Gordon, Dallenbach, Terry Labonte and Farmer
Wallace.
