Honda Affiliate Boosts Aluminum Parts Production in Japan
02/05/97
Comline reports that Shinnichi Kogyo, a Honda-affiliated partsmaker will increase its aluminum parts production three-fold. The company's new factory will be complete in March, equipment and staff from it's main main plant will be shifted to the new one, and capacity will be tripled. Both the company's old and new plants are in Aichi Prefecture.
Shinnichi Kogyo's expansion responds to growing demand for aluminum parts as automakers seek to make their cars lighter. The partsmaker specializes in transmission parts for cars and motorcycles. Honda buys the company's entire production, and last year it's fiscal sales rose 2.6%, year-on-year. Most of the company's increased production will be focused on valve spools, which regulate the passage of oil.
