Nissan Motor Intros Remodeled Skyline in Japan
02/05/97
Nikkei English News reports that Nissan Motor has debuted partially re-designed versions of its Skyline models. Nissan expects the re-done vehicles to sell 3,000 units a month. The old models were selling at a rate of about 2,500 units monthly.
Nissan officials say the company raised the price on the new 2,600cc Skyline to about $44,355 dollars, but that the price hike only covers half of what the company must pay out for parts to build the new car. The company did not raise the prices at all on the four-door sedan model, although it now offers an anti-lock braking system as standard equipment. Nissan lowered the price on the two-door coupe version of the Skyline. On the GT-R sports version of the car, Nissan redesigned the front bumper and attached a brighter xenon headlamp.
