ADP and Ford to jointly provide customer interaction
technology to dealerships

CHICAGO--(AutomotiveWire) -- ADP Dealer Services Group and Ford Motor
Co. today entered into a letter of understanding to jointly deliver
customer interaction technology services to dealers.

The implementation of this technology will enable dealerships to
individualize and personalize each and every interaction with
customers.

The letter of understanding envisions the execution of a definitive
agreement whereby ADP Dealer Services will provide Ford and
Lincoln-Mercury dealers with the Ford FOCALpt applications. Ford
FOCALpt (Focus On Creating Advocates for Life Through Personalized
Treatment) is a global strategic initiative to develop a leadership
position for Ford and Ford Motor Co. dealers in the area of customer
relationship management. ADP Dealer Services currently provides sales
applications which enable dealers to track sales prospects, browse
new/used vehicle inventories, build and manage customer profiles and
deals, deliver sales presentations and cultivate continuing
relationships with a dealer's client base.

"ADP is eager to provide Ford dealerships worldwide with technology
that will help secure their future by focusing on customer loyalty and
satisfaction," said Peter M. Leger, President of ADP Dealer
Services. "ADP's leadership information technology resources, combined
with our strong customer base of 18,000 dealerships worldwide, enables
ADP to offer unique solutions that will equip Ford with significant
competitive advantages in meeting customer needs."

The goal of this ADP and Ford initiative is to keep sales and service
professionals in front of the customer by providing access to all the
dealership's existing sales, service and financing programs. As sales
consultants will be able to walk customers through the product
selection and sales process right from their desktop PC, customers
will experience a significantly more efficiently and informed
in-dealership experience.

"Ford is committed to working with its certified dealer systems
providers to develop and implement the necessary tools to facilitate a
fundamental change in the way Ford and its dealers interact with
customers," said Thomas J. Wagner, Vice President of Ford Customer
Communications and Satisfaction. "Our objective is to build and
implement dealership sales and service tools that individualize and
significantly improve a customer's shopping and ownership experience."

Dealer Services Group provides turnkey systems to over 18,000 auto and
truck dealers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and
Latin America. ADP Dealer Services Group is the third largest business
unit of Automatic Data Processing Inc., which with over $3.5 billion
in annual revenue and 375,000 clients, is one of the largest computing
services firms in the world.
