GM Will Sell Right-Hand Drive Caddy in Japan

Nikkei English News has reported that GM says it will start selling a right-hand drive Cadillac in Japan by 1998. The car will be the first high-end U.S. car to feature right-side steering for the Japanese market. The company is expected to sell the popular Cadillac Seville through Yanase & Co.

GM says its also considering marketing right-hand drive versions of Chevrolet sport-utility vehicles in the country. Presently, the only right-hand drive GMs available in Japan are made in Germany by GM's Opel subsidiary. GM has scheduled an April release date for right-hand drive Saturns that it makes in the U.S.
