Superior Industries International Inc. announces orders from GM for
more than $15 million annually

VAN NUYS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Superior Industries International
Inc. Thursday announced that it was awarded multi-year
contracts by General Motors to supply cast aluminum wheels for the new
Chevrolet Venture and Oldsmobile Silhouette minivans beginning with
the 1997 model year.

Superior has been supplying wheels for the Chevrolet minivans over the
past five years. These replacement orders for the new model year call
for a 30 percent increase in tooling capacity, which was completed
earlier this year. Production is currently underway at Superior's
plants in Fayetteville, Ark., and Johnson City, Tenn.

"We look forward to continue building on our business with General
Motors and are proud to be one of its leading suppliers," said Louis
L. Borick, chairman and president of Superior.

Superior Industries International is the world's largest manufacturer
of aluminum wheels, supplying to Ford, General Motors, Chrysler de
Mexico, BMW and Jaguar as well as various Japanese manufacturers
including Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Isuzu. The company is also
a leading manufacturer of accessory products for the national
automotive aftermarket.
