Cadillac Announces Catera Voted Best New Luxury Car by Canadian
Journalists; Tops Lexus, Infiniti, Buick and Acura in Head-to-Head
Testing

WARREN, Mich., Dec. 9 -- The Cadillac Catera has been
named Best New Luxury Car for 1997 by the Automobile Journalists
Association of Canada (AJAC), an independent association of Canada's
top motoring journalists.

Catera was chosen following a five-day test session at Shannonville
Motorsports Park near Belleville, Ontario. There, the group of 52
journalists put competitors in ten categories through a wide variety
of evaluations, ranging from performance tests to assessments of
style, comfort and value.

"We are proud that Catera emerged as a winner from such a rigorous
head-to-head competition," said Dave Nottoli, Catera brand
manager. "Canada's automotive journalists have a well-earned
reputation for being knowledgeable and tough-minded. We are honored
that Catera was their choice for Best New Luxury Car."

The luxury car category encompassed new or substantially updated
luxury vehicles selling for less that $60,000 Canadian. For 1997,
Catera competed against the Lexus ES300, Acura 3.5 RL, Buick Park
Avenue Ultra and Infiniti QX4.
