Mazda Sells More than 400,000 Roadstars

12/12/96

Comline reports that total cumulative sales of Mazda's Eunos Roadstar (aka Mazda MX-5) have now passed the 400,000 mark. The Roadstar debuted in 1989, and reached the 400,000 milestone after seven and a half years. The statistics reflect the second best results from a sports car, with only the British MGB model having done better. Mazda sells about 400 of the cars per month in Japan and about 2,700 monthly overseas. The company ships the car to about fifty countries.
