Orders for Porsche's Boxsters Exceeds Forecast

Reuters reports that Porsche AG announced on Tuesday tha it had received more orders for its new Boxster than expected. Series production of the Boxster, a two-seater cabriolet, started in August. Wendelin Wiedeking, Porsche's management board chairman, said, "the order situation is significantly better than we had expected."

Earlier Porsche had said it would increase overall sales of 911 cars and Boxsters to from 20,000 cars in FY 1995-96 to 30,000 in FY 1996-97.
