Mitsubishi Motors to Send Letters to Owners of Vehicles Equipped With
Air Bags; Aim Is To Increase Occupant Awareness About Air Bag
Deployment

CYPRESS, Calif., Nov. 25 -- Mitsubishi Motor Sales of
America, Inc. (MMSA) will be sending letters with warning labels to
owners of Mitsubishi Motors' vehicles equipped with air bags to
increase occupant awareness about air bag deployment by communicating
additional recommended procedures for driving and riding in the
owner's air bag-equipped vehicle.

Mitsubishi Motors representatives are working with the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on the agency's
recommendations about future air bag applications. In accordance with
NHTSA's final rule, Mitsubishi Motors intends to apply warning labels
to all new vehicles produced for sale in the U.S.

MMSA plans to make a public announcement when it begins to send the
letters to current owners of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles with air bags.

Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. was established in 1982 by
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Tokyo, and markets a full line of
subcompacts, mid-size sedans, sports coupes, grand touring sports
cars, luxury performance sedans and sport utility vehicles.
