Chrysler Unveils All New V-6 Motors Of Varying Cubes

Last week Chrysler Corporation took the wraps off three new V6 overhead cam engines that will find their way into future models. They all are dual OHC, have aluminum blocks and heads, and will debut in 1998 models.

  • The 2.7 liter motor has 24 valves, puts out 200 hp, and will power the 1998 Dodge Intrepid and Eagle Vision.
  • The 3.2 liter SOHC puts out 220 hp and will be used in the Chrysler LHS.
  • The 3.5 liter motor has 24 valves, cranks out out 250 hp, and will find its way into truck use.

Chrysler has built a 247,000 sq.ft. addition to its engine plant in Kenosha, Wisconsin where it will be able to turn out 420,000 motors by 1998.
