Saab Announces 50th Anniversary Events

Saab Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Two Distinctive Owner Events:
Saab Enthusiasts are Invited to Jubilee Events in New Hampshire and
Sweden

NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 20 -- North American Saab owners have
been gathering to celebrate the heritage and spirit of their favorite
Swedish marquee since 1956, the year Saab began importing cars to the
U.S. In 1997, the 50th Anniversary of Saab as a passenger car
company, American and Canadian Saab enthusiasts will continue this
Saab tradition by joining in the largest National Saab owners'
celebration ever. This Jubilee edition of the annual owners'
convention will be held July 31 to August 3 in Waterville Valley, New
Hampshire. In addition, Saab has also invited owners to join the
international Jubilee celebration in its hometown of Trollhattan,
Sweden, July 17-20, 1997.

National Saab owners' conventions are attended by hundreds of Saab
enthusiasts each year. The event, supported and staffed by volunteers
from regional Saab Clubs and Saab Cars USA, Inc., traditionally
includes a Concourse d'Saab, where vintage two-strokes, classic Saab
96s and today's late-model 900 and 9000s share centerstage with such
eclectic vehicles as a Saab 99 Turbo pick-up truck -- courtesy of a
Chevrolet S-10 rear end. A variety of technical and cultural
seminars, driving competitions, new model test drives and swap meets
are favorite parts of the weekend, as are rides in Saab's 300-plus
horsepower rally car, autographs by rally legend Erik Carlsson, and
most importantly, the camaraderie of Saab owners from every corner of
North America.

For 1997, Saab has expanded the convention to four full days, adding
new programs that will appeal to every type of Saab enthusiast, from
vintage buffs to first-time buyers. For example, Saab has reserved
New Hampshire International Speedway, Loudon, New Hampshire, for two
full days and convention registrants will have the opportunity to sign
up for a Saab- exclusive Skip Barber Driving School, featuring Saab
900 Turbos.

For those owners who want to join Saab Automobile AB as it celebrates
50 years of history, Saab Cars USA, Inc. is offering a special tour --
complete with Saab 9000 rental car -- to Sweden, departing July 16,
1997. During a four-day stay in Trollhattan, owners will be
surrounded by Saab aficionados from around the globe, including a
group of nearly 200 vintage owners who are culminating a driving tour
of the North Cape in Trollhattan. Special events at the newly
expanded Saab Museum, and many other festivities are scheduled.

For more information on participating in both events, Saab enthusiasts
can check Saab's website at www.saabusa.com., or call 1-800-GET-SAAB,
