9,000 Orders for Honda's Logo after 2 Weeks in Japan

10/21/96

Kyodo reports that Honda Motor Co. announced that it had logged nearly 9,000 orders for its Logo compact sedan in the first two weeks after its debut Oct. 3. The company had set its monthly sales goal for the car at 6,000. Honda ascribed the high sales rate for the 1300 cc sedan to its fuel efficiency--18 kilometers per liter--and to its affordable price--less than 1 million yen. The company will follow up the three-door model of the Logo with a five-door version that is scheduled to debut on Nov. 1.
