Ford Korea Announces a Recall of Tarus and Sable Models

10/17/96

Comline reports that Ford Motor Korea will recall Ford Sable and Taurus models made domestically between February 1995 and May 1996. The recall affects 150 Taurus models that were made during that period. Ford customers have complained about excess noise in the cars, and Ford has recognized problems with the wind shield and rubber packing on the Taurus. Ford Motor Korea will fix the problem by replacing bad parts under the recall program. Korean analysts have said that the sales of the Tarus have been sluggish because of the sensitivity of Korean consumers to noise.
