Ford Motor to Introduce Ka Minicar in Japan

Nikkei English News has reported that Ford plans to sell its new 1,300cc Ka minicar on the Japanese market. Ford developed the minicar in Europe for the world market, and is considering debuting it in Asia. Detroit's Big Three carmakers have had difficulties establishing a foothold in the Japanese market; Ford hopes its subcompact does better than other American models.

Ford started Ka production in Spain in September, and unveiled the car in Europe at the recent Paris car show. Starting in 1997, the company plans to produce the model in Brazil.
