Southeast Toyota Distributors Announce Best-Ever September Sales

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Southeast Toyota Distributors,
Inc. today announced the best-ever September retail sales in its
27-year history. The company's former September record, set in 1987,
was surpassed by seven percent.

Throughout Southeast Toyota's five-state region, retail truck sales in
September advanced 25 percent over the year-ago month while retail car
sales advanced 16 percent.

Sales leaders for the month include Camry, up 43 percent;
2-wheel-drive Tacoma pickups, up 38 percent; and 2-wheel-drive T100
pickups, up 85 percent.

"The launch of the all-new Camry gave rise to September's
record-breaking sales," said Southeast Toyota General Manager John
Williams. "Even with a mid - month introduction, '97 Camrys accounted
for nearly half of September's Camry sales."

Ranked first among Toyota's American distributors in sales and
customer satisfaction, Southeast Toyota is the independent distributor
of Toyotas in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South

South Florida-Area Toyota Car Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's fourteen South Florida-area
dealers today reported a five-percent hike in September retail car
sales over the year - ago month.

Nationwide, Toyota's retail car sales in September advanced 13 percent
over September 1995.

Atlanta-Area Toyota Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's 12 Atlanta-area dealers today
reported an 80-percent hike in September retail truck sales and a
38-percent advance in September retail car sales over the year-ago
month.

Nationwide, Toyota's total retail sales in September advanced 17
percent over September 1995.

Mobile-Area Toyota Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's three Mobile-area dealers today
reported a three-percent hike in September retail car sales and a
one-percent advance in September retail truck sales over the year-ago
month.

Mobile-area dealers include Palmer's Airport Toyota, Springhill Toyota
and Gulf Coast Toyota, Pensacola, Florida.

Charlotte-Area Toyota Car Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's five Charlotte-area dealers
today reported a 27-percent hike in September retail car sales over
the year-ago month.

Charlotte-area dealers include Harrelson Toyota, Scott Clark's Toyota,
Town and Country Toyota, Toyota of Concord and Toyota of Gastonia.

Orlando-Area Toyota Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's four Orlando-area dealers today
reported a six-percent hike in September retail sales over the
year-ago month.

Orlando-area dealers include Jimmy Bryan Toyota, Kissimmee Toyota,
Orlando Toyota and Quality Toyota.

Raleigh/Durham-Area Toyota Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's three Raleigh/Durham-area
dealers today reported a 43-percent hike in September retail truck
sales and a 21-percent advance in September retail car sales over the
year-ago month. Raleigh/Durham-area dealers include Classic Toyota,
Leith Toyota and Raleigh Toyota.

Birmingham-Area Toyota Sales Climb In September

MIAMI, Oct. 8 -- Toyota's three Birmingham-area dealers
today reported a 47-percent hike in September retail car sales and a
12-percent advance in September retail truck sales over the year-ago
month.

Birmingham-area dealers include Hoover Toyota, Limbaugh Toyota and
Serra Toyota.
