Mercedes-Benz of North America Announces Changes in Marketing/Product
Management

MONTVALE, N.J., Oct. 7 -- Mercedes-Benz of North America
(MBNA) today announced two key changes in its product management
disciplines effective October 1, 1996.

Joe Eberhardt, currently General Manager, Marketing/Product
Management, Passenger Cars and Light Trucks has been promoted to
assume the responsibility for Mercedes-Benz AG's (MBAG) worldwide
product management.

Eberhardt joined MBNA in 1988 from the parent company, MBAG, where he
had been based for six years.  Prior to his most recent position at
MBNA, Eberhardt served as General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Manhattan,
the company- owned dealership in New York.

Eberhardt is a graduate of the Master's Degree program at the Academy
for Administration and Economics of Stuttgart. He earned his master's
degree in business administration at the Leonard N. Stern School of
Business in New York in 1993. Ken Enders, General Manager,
Marketing/Product Management, Service/Parts/Accessories/Customer Care
will take over as Eberhardt's successor. He spearheaded MBNA's
industry-leading customer care and satisfaction initiatives and
oversaw the development of the company's aggressive parts pricing
realignment.

Enders has been with MBNA for ten years, holding numerous regional and
home office positions. Prior to his current position, Enders was the
Product Manager responsible for the U.S. launch of the C-Class in
1993.

Enders is a graduate of the State University of New York, Oswego and
received his master's degree in business administration from Indiana
State. He lives in Warwick, N.Y. with his wife, Linda.

A successor to Enders will be announced shortly.
