Chrysler Revises Consumer Cash Program

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 7 -- Chrysler Corporation
announced today that it is revising its "Summer Spectacular"
consumer incentives program, increasing the available cash allowances
on certain 1997 car models.

The changes are effective October 8, 1996, and the program is extended
through January 6, 1997, for the 1996 and 1997 vehicles it covers. The
program gives new vehicle buyers the choice of cash allowances or
reduced interest rates on financing.

The cash allowances available to buyers of 1997 Dodge and Plymouth
Neon, Dodge Stratus, Plymouth Breeze and Chrysler Cirrus models
increase to $1,000 from $500. Cash allowances available on other 1997
and 1996 vehicles in the program are unchanged.

Here's a list of the cash allowances available on 1997 models:

Dodge and Plymouth Neon -- $1,000
Dodge Avenger/Chrysler Sebring Coupe -- $500
Plymouth Breeze/Chrysler Cirrus/Dodge Stratus -- $1,000
Chrysler Concorde LX/Dodge Intrepid/Eagle Vision ESi -- $500
Chrysler Concorde LXi/Dodge Intrepid ES/Eagle Vision TSi -- $1,000
Eagle Talon -- $500
Chrysler LHS -- $1,500
Dodge Ram Van -- $500
Dodge Ram Wagon -- $800
Dodge Ram Van Conversion -- $1,000

Here's a list of the cash allowances available on 1996 models:

Dodge and Plymouth Neon -- $1,000

Chrysler LHS -- $3,000
Jeep. Cherokee SE -- $200
Jeep. Cherokee Sport & Classic -- $500

Dodge Dakota -- $1,500 (except in California and Hawaii, where cash
allowances are $1,000 for Club Cab models and
$2,000 for Regular Cab models)

As an alternative to the cash allowances on these vehicles, lower
A.P.R. financing rates are available as follows:

Cars -- 1.9 percent for one to 24 months; 4.9 percent for 25-36
months; 5.9 percent for 37-48 months; and 6.9 percent for 49-60
months.

Trucks -- 4.9 percent for one to 24 months; 6.9 percent for 25-36
months; and 7.9 percent for 37-48 months.
